Outdoor Ceremonies
Ceremonies at Oxcombe can take place outdoors within the gardens in our outdoor ceremony space that overlooks the parkland and rolling Wolds countryside. This offers a relaxed and natural setting shaped by the seasons and the landscape of the estate.
The space encompasses broad views of the estate, a bespoke willow weaved ceremony arch, traditional fold out wooden chairs for up to 28 guests, the couple and two celebrants / registrars. This allows for ceremonies that feel open and informal, while remaining closely connected to the church, barns, and Oxcombe Manor.
Flexibility and flow
One of the benefits of an outdoor ceremony is the ease with which the day can unfold. Guests can remain within the grounds for drinks, photographs, and informal gatherings, without any sense of transition or interruption.
Outdoor ceremonies work particularly well for couples who want the ceremony to feel connected to the wider setting of the surrounding countryside and natural world.
Practical considerations
Outdoor ceremonies are weather-dependent and arrangements are discussed in advance as part of the planning process. Should the famous British weather turn wet on the day, the ceremony can simply be moved to within the Church, which is located next to the outdoor ceremony space.
Seating, layout, and timing are flexible and can be tailored to the needs of the day.
Inclusivity
Outdoor ceremonies are open to all couples and people of any or no faith, welcoming LGBTQ+ ceremonies 🏳️🌈
