Ceremony & Canapés Reception

The Floating Blue is designed for couples who would like time to gather and celebrate after their ceremony, without extending the day into a full afternoon or evening event. It offers a relaxed drinks and canapés reception in the setting of either the gardens or Cowshed events barn, allowing guests to connect, share and enjoy the surroundings.

The Ceremony

Your ceremony can take place either inside All Saints Church or outdoors in the garden ceremony area, depending on your preference and the season. The church is heated and available for weddings all year round.

The church is licensed for civil ceremonies and accommodates up to 28 guests, creating an intimate and personal atmosphere. The garden offers a lighter, open-air alternative during the warmer months.

Drinks & Canapés Reception

Following the ceremony, guests are welcomed into the Cowshed Events Barn and surrounding garden areas for a drinks and canapés reception.

Canapés are provided by our appointed caterers and included within the package. Couples are able to choose a selection from a canapé menu in advance, with final choices agreed ahead of the day.

Guests supply their own alcohol, which is served by our caterers using Oxcombe’s own glassware. Any drinks can be stored in our fridges the day beforehand to ensure they're cool and crisp for the day. Tea, coffee and a small selection of non-alcoholic drinks (elderflower, lemonade & Oxcombe pressed apple juice) are provided. Drinks and canapés are served in a relaxed, informal style, allowing guests to move easily between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Flowers & Atmosphere

Simple, rustic, seasonal flower arrangements are included within the ceremony and reception spaces. These are designed to complement the character of the church, barn and gardens, using locally sourced foliage and flowers arranged in Oxcombe’s own vases.

Couples are welcome to bring their own and additional flowers or small decorative touches if they wish, by prior arrangement.

When used for receptions, the Cowshed Events Barn is prepared as a welcoming space, with soft lighting creating a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Photographs & Grounds

The designated garden areas are available for photographs and guest use during the reception, offering a natural rural backdrop across lawns, trees and open countryside.

Access & Timings

• The civil ceremony may take place at any time during the day, subject to registrar availability

• All ceremonies must be completed by 4:00pm

• Drinks and canapés are served following the ceremony

• Drinks service finishes at 5:30pm

• All guests must depart the venue by 6:00pm

Price

From £2,600

Price includes ceremony and drinks and canapé reception for a minimum number of 10 guests.

Additional guests (up to 35 in total) may be added at a per-person rate of £40 per person.

Pricing is based on guest numbers, with a booking deposit required to secure your date.
